What Should Christians do about worry and fear

The Bible says that Christians should avoid worrying. Some Scholars way that worry is very closely related to atheism. It is almost like you are trying to play God. Worrying is the opposite of trusting God. Jesus says in the bible “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”

In Philippians 4:6, we are commanded, ” Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” We need to bring all of our needs worries, and concerns to God. That is not to say that we are helpless little creatures that can do nothing for ourselves. Instead, it is just reminding us that there is no need to worry, God will take care of our needs.

Matthew 6:31-33
So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Anxiety can start at an early age, for many people suffering with anxiety a lot of there problems started early in life. Treating a kid with anxiety can be a tricky thing, but with the right approach you can save your kid from years of pain and suffering.

So What can you do with a kid who has anxiety?

  • Listen to your kid’s concerns and try to give your child practical information to counteract irrational fears and worries Talking to your child about his fears can be a big help.
  • Listen, without being critical, let your child think through his irrational fears and help them to realize that there fears are not going to hurt them.
  • Practice relaxation techniques with your child
  • Experts suggest that gradual and consistent desensitization is the best way to help kids overcome their fears. Experts say you can gradually expose your kids to the things they fear if you do so in a manner that makes it fun and exciting.
