One effective way of controlling your anxiety is to accept the feelings you are having for exactly what they are, feelings. They are nothing scary, nothing bad, only feelings. They can not hurt you.

As scary as it is to get the weird anxiety symptoms, you must realize that they are completely normal.  In fact, you are the one creating them. Simply accepting that your symptoms are a result of anxiety can help lead you down the road to recovery.

Something that has helped many people is to really accept your symptoms. Don’t shrink in fear from them, but instead go with your symptoms. Put it in your mind that you can work through them. Let yourself realize that the symptoms are not as scary as you make them out to be. They are simply a response to your overactive imagination. Once you lose your fear of your symptoms your anxiety will start to disappear.
